View Full Version : Hr20 readings vs H20

I have one HR20-700, one H20-100 and three H20-600's. I have been following the signal strengths for the last couple of days and caught the burst on TP-11 on 103b. However I have been checking 99b also and discovered that the HR20-DVR is shoing signal strengths in the 90's on transponders 2 and 6 but none of the H20's are showing anything but 0's on 99b TP 2 and 6. All receivers (HR20 and H20's have the BBC installed on them and all check out as "searching for signal 771 for the test".

Is the H20 still not activated to receive signals through the BBC (Ha-lo) or is something wrong with them?

until recently with software 0x2034 i haven't seen signal 103(a) and 99(b). this was just mainly a well known software related issue not displaying the readings .

If you're getting all the channels that you should be getting and get searching for sat on 499, you're probably ok now and will be ok once D10 lights up.

So Satchaser: What FW ver. are you running on those H20's?

until recently with software 0x2034 i haven't seen signal 103(a) and 99(b). this was just mainly a well known software related issue not displaying the readings .

Thanks for the response. I have 0x2024 on the H20's and observed that they get no signals on 103b and 99b. I do get signals on 103a

Very strange. I got 99(b) readings, I'm pretty sure, when I was running 2024 FW (2 H20-600's, now running 2034)

on 99(b) your probably not close enough to a spot beam or any is pointed to you. i would not worry.

Sorry, I guess that I did not make it clear. I get signals on 99b on TP 2&6 on my HR20 DVR but I do not get any readings on 99b on any of the 4 H20 HD receivers. So something is on 99b that the HR20 can see but the H20 cannot. I got these differences an hour ago (9-14-07 5 p.m.)

gotcha,
since you mention your receiving readings on the HR20, how high is the readings?

however, i still wouldn't be that worried about not seeing anything on the 99(b), unless your experiencing HD-channel issues on the H20. it is a well known software issue on not seeing the readings.

I'm running 2021, updated 8/24 via NATIONAL RELEASE......NO CE download...on an H20-100 in the bedroom that I could check quickly. I'm exiled there for the Sox Yankees game. Wife and grandkids have the other TVs tied up. Glad I got the 27" HD 2 weeks ago.

It was VERY SLOW to update the transponders numbers (initially all O for more than 20 seconds) but then I get readings of 100, 100, 30 (spot beam for NY??) 98 98, 100 or transp. 1-6.

Maybe give it some more time to populate the menu with #s.

95,97 on 2 and 6 respectively and I allowed 5 minutes for the chart to populate.

MY STUPID!!
It is a timing issue. I went back and checked both types of H20 receivers, H2-100 with 0x2021 and H20-600 with 0x2024. It took approximately 2 minutes for the #2 TP to give a reading and about 4 minutes for the #6 TP to populate. Both had strong signals 95 and 96. These are probably my locals.

Glad it finally worked out for you :)

this is why i was suggesting it was more a software issue than anything else. some has had very good luck on waiting for them to update after a few minutes. meanwhile others has sat watching till they were blue in their face and nothing ever updated.
