I currently have an HR20-700 with the RC24.I have it set to use the RF feature.Today I'm getting my 2nd HR20,I know that it might be a -100 or another -700.Will the remote be different if it's a -100?If I end up with 2 RC24's can I set the new remote to IR,since both will be on thye same rack, will I have a conflict? Any how to's? Thx Doo

Could be an updated model, but it won't be drastically different.

Yes.

Just set it to IR... with your -700 set to RF, it doesn't pay attention to the IR signals

I think when you initiate the remote to operate in RF mode, it requests the last 6 digits of your receivers ID number---that implies to me that it the RF mode will be unique to the box you associate it with and, therefore, you shouldn't have a conflict with 2 remotes on 2 diff. boxes if each are operating in RF mode. But try it and let us know!

You can use both remotes in RF and they won't conflict with one another. I have 2 boxes in separate rooms, both on RF. The remotes can be used anywhere near either tv, but will only operate the box it's supposed to.
