You do realize that you won't be able to see any of them on that TiVO, right ?

I know that tivo doesnt do sats.

I'm just saying they have already added the new HD chans to their lineup already with channel numbers. Most look to be the same as the SD.

I also noticed they added my local FOX channel to HD... wasn't there yesterday.

Yes, the new channels #'s will be doubled up. I just had a new receiver installed today and I now have 2 of each of my local channels--one in standard, one in HD-- which wasn't the case before. I don't know if it's the new receiver or the new satellite.

Raven, is your receiver actually a TiVo, or an HR20? If it truly is a TiVo, not matter what the guide shows, you will not be able to receive any of the new HD channels D* is adding. If it really is an HR20, you will receive them, but then you have a DVR, not a TiVo. :)

But I wholheartedly agree - BRING IT ON!

Not all Tivo's are connected to DTV. Some are connected to digital cable and they work just fine on the new HD channels.

Silly me - since he was posting in a DirecTV forum, I made the silly assumption that it was a DirecTV receiver. My bad.

A similar post was made yesterday in a D* forum here at dbstalk for someone else using a SA Tivo. Mods, please update the thread title to reflect this, or merge the two since they are practically identical and help avoid unnecessary confusion.

Regardless of the fact that anything I record may not have the came "quality" of the original broadcast, my S2 stand-alone Tivo is working fine off of my H20, thanks... :)

Thats how I have mine ... and I somtimes record HD chans with my S2 and it doesn't look that bad at all.

I have them set up on diff inputs anyway so when I'm watching live HD I watch str8 from the H20 input.
