On my D* R10 I was able to use some key combinations on the remote that would enable/disable/change settings that weren't publicized. Primarily i used one that would put the time in tiny letters on the bottom right of the screen.

Is this available for my 722? Is there a cheat sheet of available codes anywhere?

Ron Barry has posted a sticky with some 622 shortcuts at the top of the page. Don't know of any others, if you find some please post or send to Ron to include in his list.

Before one can find the "shortcuts" one would have know what they're called. You didn't give him that. He is a noob.

Thanks for the reply. That post isn't quite what I'm talking about.

With D* on my R10 I could put a series of button presses in that made no sense. They were cryptic but intentionally put in so I could do certain things.

For instance, I could press dvr then 1, 3, 5 then select, display 2 and the screen would show the clock in the corner. That sequence is an example but you get the idea.
I could also change the functionality of some of the buttons on the peanut remote. D* remotes didn't come with 30 second skips. But you could program a button to change to that. Again, unpublished, but intentionally included.

These were unpublished codes but someone had a list of them. Anyone that spent a lot of time with an R10 will know what I mean.

But I don't see those here. Let's relate this to the same thing as entering special sequence of buttons in a game to do special moves. Same philosophy.

Here's an example. This is the forum I used when I was with Directv. and ths is a list of codes for my R10
