View Full Version : Controlling AV receiver with RC64R remote
I got my first HR20 installed a couple of days ago. Since the OTA locals all go through the HR20 now, I no longer have to use multiple inputs on my TV and everything goes through my sound system. The HR20 came with the RC64R remote which I have programmed for the power/volume/etc on the TV and sound system, a Sony STR-DG800. Is there a way to program the TV input button on the remote (or any other button really) to cycle through the inputs on my Sony receiver? A few of the numeric buttons will select a few of the inputs, but satellite is not one of them.
Also, does a document exist that contains the various codes for programming the remotes (not for the type of equipment it controls, but what changes the function of the remote itself)?
Yes, there is a manual available online at the URL below, it has all of the codes.

No, there is no way to make the TV input key cycle through receiver inputs.
I would suggest you change the codeset your receiver responds to, from AV2 to AV1, has nothing to do with av1& av2 on the white remote. There is only one code for AV2 receivers, where there are many codes for receivers set to AV1. See this thread on how to switch the receiver & oem remote:

Unfortunately the RC64R is still not the be-all and end-all of remotes, though it is free or cheap. You might try a remote that supports macros, like your choice of Philips, Harmony, Sony, etc.

Thanks Edmund. That did the trick. It's not exactly what I was looking for, but the numerical buttons control more of the various inputs now so it gave me what I needed.
