View Full Version : Where are the Channels
I recently switch/downgraded my subscription from America's Top 100 + HD to DishFamily package. Now I just noticed that majority of the channels(Animal Planet, Discovery Kids, Biography, etc) of DishFamily can only be viewed at my TV2. What gives? Any hints? Thanks!

Did you check the favorites setup or try list All Sub from TV1??

Yes, I did! To be sure, I keyed in channel numbers on my TV1 (ie 179-Discovery Kids, 184-Animal Planet, etc.) and got error message 013-needs subscription. While on TV2 i can view all these channels!
Try switching it to single user mode, see what you get. If they are there, switch back and see if they stay. Also note if not there and what happens to tv2 when you switch back.

I did switch to single user mode and as expected, tv2 acts like tv1, the Dishfamily channels cannot be viewed. Any other suggestions?

Every once in a while I see this behavior if my EPG gets corrupted. Sometimes a checkswitch will force a new guide update.. Other times I have had to do a front-panel reset on my receiver.
Could be you have a partially corrupt EPG causing this, so it might be worth trying either or both of the above.

Yeah, I did both yesterday and today but still...I decided to try tech chat at dishnetwork.com we went through those steps once more to no avail until tech offered me a receiver replacement. I wonder if this will solve the problem. Let's wait and see! Anyways, thanks!

Downmapping issue?
Pull the power cord out of the wall let it sit for a half hour then plug it in again see if that will reset your receiver.
Replacement receiver arrived and that solved the problem! Thank you all!...

Weird, any chance you noted what version of S/W the two previous and replacement receiver were running?
