I currently am using all 8 outputs on my WB68 multiswitch. I have the slimline dish. What are my options to add more outputs to my system. Thanks

You can cascade another WB68 (giving you 12) or get a WB816.

I didn't think you could cascade a WB68. Is this correct?

Yes, the WB68 is cascadeable - at least two of them. I wouldn't try more.

How would I run the lines. Would I get 12 outputs?

Four in to the first WB68. Four of the outs from the first to the ins of the second. That leaves you 4 free on the first and 8 on the second for a total of 12.

The other approach is to use power passing splitters between the dish and the two switches. The trick is to be certain you have both port #1 from the swtiches go to the same splitter, port #2 together, etc. That is how my switches are arranged.

BTW, DIRECTV "did" the install for free on the switches (I did the work, they brought the equipment). :)

Cheers,
Tom

I agree with Tom. I would do a parallel setup. That is how I had mine before I get a SWM. Now I have a SWM and WB68 in a parallel setup. I had no problems at all.

I would not do a cascaded setup since they are not powered.

By using the power pass method you explained, does that give you 16 outputs or 12?

That will give you 16.

Take a look at the link in my signature. It will help show you the setup.

I just installed a zinwell wb616 with 16 ports which sells for about $140 on the internet.
