721 audio problems

hello,

I just got my new 721 and it was working great for about an hour. Now there's no audio at all, just dazzling digital picture. I've tried all the dishnetwork suggestions and nothing works. I know my cables are good, my TV is not muted, etc. I'm a video proffessional so I'm confident everything is fine. Dish RA'd the box so I'm getting a new one in a few days but I was hoping you guys might have a suggestion. I'm convinced it's a software glitch cuz the problem started when I switched the audio settings from PCM to Digital/PCM. Is there a way to get the 721 to redownload its software and overwrite the glitch? Any other suggestions?

Plus in the analog outputs you should be getting sound out of them no matter if you are in PCM or Dolby Digital mode.

If that don't work then your Audio circuit took the Holiday Off. :)

I have had some times where the analog outputs don't work recently, then I hit rewind, or fast forward or change the channel and everything is fine.
Not sure about digital out since at the time I wasn't using it..

actually, the analog audio isn't working either so i guess the circuit is fried after all. drag.

I've seen the audio go away if the system boots up being unable to see the sattelite. Running check switch seems to kick the audio back in.... Something to try.

I ended up having the exact same roblem my first day. Problem seemed to happen right after I got the software update.

Dish send me out a new box, and I haven't had an issue since.

exactly my situation. hopefully the new box won't do the same thing. as far as your new box, are you using pcm or digital/pcm audio? i'm afraid to change anything when the new box comes cuz i don't want the same thing to happen. default id pcm only. i may just leave it at that.
