I would like to see a better archive to tape function built into the 721. Tivo give you a little header on your program indicating show title and date recorded. It makes for very nice tape archiving.
I would love to see a similar feature PLUS, the ability to check off shows you want to archive, and have the 721 Queue them all up in sequence.
Something else I'd like to see is similar functionality to the Panasonic show stopper where programs can be archived to DVD. Since the 721 already has USB, it would be nice to see a Dishnetwork branded DVD-R/RW recorder. There is already opensource buring software out there for Linux. Price the drive at $450, and program the sw to only work with the dish branded DVD-R drives to recoup R&D. (as Apple did with HD's for many years).
I think the Panasonic Show Stopper does a pretty good job balencing copyright with consumer rights. (The programs automatically delete when you archive them to DVD).
