Hey guys,

I just want to share another success story for a swap of the HR10-250 for the HR-20...

I called in politely instead of the usual retention tricks and stated that I'd been with D* for several years and that I have seven additional recievers, along with the PREMIER package and HD... I then asked if he could ask his supervisor if he could do the swap, and within minutes he was back from hold and was setting up an appointment for me (for free, of course.)

He even said I could keep the old HR10-250, although I don't think that'll be the case. I'll post again when they come on Saturday.

Most people keep the HR10-250. No one at DIRECTV wants them. :)

I removed all the SD receivers from my account and kept my HR10s for the rest of the NFL season. :)

Cheers,
Tom

Good deal michael. keep an eye on your account online, because since they didn't request the 250 back (they prolly don't want it), they may have just added another receiver to your list instead of upgrading you ;)

sweet deal. I have been trying to swap my directivo but the best I have gotten was "It's $299 so there isn't anything I can do"

Sigh

I took my HR-20 for $99 and sold my HR10 for $300. :D

I just ordered my second hr20 this morning for free, not even shipping. I just got the first one for shipping only less than 2 weeks ago. I moved my hr10 to the bedroom, where it will work great since it is a SD set.

Let me get this straight.. You have 4 activated HR20's already, as your sig says.. And they let you trade in an old useless receiver for another HR20 when they already have you under lease?

This doesn't sound like the D* I've dealt with.

Yeah, to be honest with you I wasn't expecting much either. Just thought it was worth a try...

Thanks for that...I wouldn't have thought of it... I'm still curious why they don't want the old one back though...sounds kind of fishy, huh?
