Got my completely free HR20 and 5-LNB dish Saturday, replacing (actually displacing) an HR10.

Install went well, the guy got a great signal. He only made 1 mistake when diplexing my OTA (to the HR10, I know you can't do it through the BBC) but I fixed it in 10 seconds after he left.

Plus he let me show him Blu-Ray on my Sony A3000 and said it was the best picture he's ever seen which earned him a $20 tip!!

So far I'm pleasantly surprised with the HR20. Not only is it super-fast but it has several why-didn't-they-think-of-this-before features.

Just to take 1 at random: when you pick a recorded show from the list, you have the option to resume or start from the begining. For someone with boys ages 5 and 3 that's a real advantage. No more pressing advance twice or whatever it was to get to the begining of an hour show of which they watched the first 10 minutes 3 days ago.

So bring on the HD.

Cool! Congrats! Do you find that Blu-Ray is a big advantage over standard DVD at 480p for films? Does it make a big difference for you?

On my Sony XBR1, with 1080i input, it made a small but significant difference.

On my new A3000, it's incredible. It's almost a problem, as I can't imagine watching a 480p DVD anymore. I'm already looking at a HD-DVD player!

Continuing to stray off topic, I have an HD-DVD not a Blue Ray, but I find that it makes a huge difference. To me, there's a jump almost equal to that of the jump from 480i TV to 480P DVD. The colors are brighter and everything is more clear. The sound is phenomenal.

My biggest problem is the availability of titles for it.
