I mean seriously a web page that doesn't keep "us" updated on what is going on they are atleast telling us htat info...by saying programming is coming by the end of Sept and that 70 channels by the end of Oct. Might as well throw out hte 100 channels by the end of the year as well.

What should DirecTV do then? Should they put what they "think" the new day is on the webpage? What happens when/if they miss that date? It's clear they don't want to put themselves in that position again.

Yes.

As long as the information stated clearly, and in context, people will react well to the nature of the information change. I've been on both sides of this equation and believe me, people will be just fine so long as they know what's going on.

People are FLOODING this site hunting for information. They're going to get it, rumor or not, and they are going to set their expectations accordingly. Whether or not that's fair to DirecTV is irrelevant. It's what is, and DirecTV would be wise to understand that silence is not a marketable virtue.

I spoke to a very helpful CSR yesterday who went and spoke to his manager twice to get information for me. He said he would "guarantee" within 1 week there would be the new batch of channels (he didn't guarantee how many). He was so confident, he gave me his name and badge #.

Also, from my hemming & hawing about possibly moving to E*, he gave me the following:

6 Months Free
HD Subscription
HBO
SHO
Starz
DVR Service

I was very satisfied.

I called *D in CA and was told there coming as soon the negotiations with martins and galactic alliance or complete. D10 was seized by them just moments before launch of the new HD.
