Well Directv came out Sunday and upgraded my HR10-250 and 3lnb with a HR20-700 and 5lnb. Well he didn't have a multi switch so he came back at 8:30 last night in the dark and installed it. This is what I found this morning when I went out.

Yeah thats the old multi switch just dangling and the new one not mounted to the house. Notice the green ground wire still going to old one ?? My question is ,where is the grounding point on the new Zinwell WB68 ?? I also don't see an grounding block anywhere.

You could more the ground wire to one of the mounting screws on the Zinwell. It will be grounded to the case just like a dedicated ground block screw. Might scratch a little gray paint off where the will will touch and loop the wire around the screw.......tighten her down and off ya go.

Dont feel bad, a d tech came and couldnt figure out my structured wiring setup so I had to get up there, hookup my tone generator on the line and track it for him. Then he half ass mounted the dish and I had to go up there and redo everything a week later.

kuntakintay I feel your pain. I've been a self installer since day 1 and with the couple of times DTV has been "required" to do the swap outs etc I've always had to go behind them to clean up. Unlevel poles, angles a degree or so off...."hey how about tightening ALL the screws in the anchors dude!"

The last one took my 20 year old Snap On screwdriver (not on purpose but he hasn't brought it back either)........I think I've hunted him down though.

I had to go out and tighten my dish mount bolts an hour after my new dish was installed... nice work, Ironwood!

No kidding and the guy only put one support leg on mine! Fortunately a nice D* service fan slid me another one so I could make my tripod.. Original numbskull installer put one support leg inline with the dish. Wouldn't move up or down but boy would it wiggle.

Take a little pride, ya know? :icon_bb:
