721 Questions

This forum is a big help! I recieved the 721 a week ago it took me 3 days to install it. It seems the 721 is not programed to recognize the new dish 500 quad lnb. Once I got ahold of a tech at dish that new this. I had to hook it to my old dish to download the program. Then reinstall it on my new dish. However it was worth the hassle. What a great machine! However I have a few questions. How do I record  a saved pvr program to the vcr. I can record it if I am watching it live or if I choose to save it to vcr initially. Is there a way to do this easier? I guess my question is how do you archive the shows. The only other problem is the Caller ID only works sometimes. Not a big deal I guess. Looking forward to the new software release.

MikeC - that pretty much covers the archive-to-tape options...with the addition of watching the pre-recorded PVR event while recording to the VCR from the 721 A/V out. Bonus of this method is that you can "skip" the commercials :cool:
Only problem with this is if you don't think you would want to watch the show again....

As for CallerID, I have found that it always picks up during live TV and about 70% of the time if you are watching a PVR event
