View Full Version : Lost my signal on 101 Sat...

as well as 99, 103a & b, but I have signal on 110 and 119 ranges from 80 to 100.
I have an HR20 and DirecTivo and signals are the same on both (where applicable)

Going to look at dish now and will call but thought our little society here would be able to help quicker.

Find a piece of gum, chew it, and then stick it on the main LNB.

I'd check the skew first. That's usually the problem when losing just a couple of satellites.

I would check the back of your DVR/receiver to make sure all your cables are firmly connected. Tighten any loose ones by hand. Also note if any connectors appear faulty or flimsy.

I would also check similar connections in your basement or wherever your cables connect up inside your home. Tighten any loose ones by hand.


At that point, I'd recheck your unit.

Well, this is what I have now-
Some transponders on 101 like TP 1, 6,14,22 have 52 to 63 readings while all the others are 0s.

I did go out and wiggle the dish a little. My spot beams are still fine so I can watch those on the D-Tivo. The HR20 was reset at their suggestion and since that killed the guide data I cannot receive the spot beam channels.

I guess my question is any thoughts on LNB versus wire since I have the 110 and 119 signals strong?

My feeling is it is either LNB or the built in multi switch in the slim line dish. D* pleasantly offered to charge me $75 to diagnosis the problem with a $100 item that is less then 6 months old.

Here's my latest update-
Sat 101 signals are back but still a little low.
Acquiring guide data is still on screen as an info overlay and won't go away.
(Doing another reset now).
my sat 99 and 103 signals are still at 0% though and I'll check elsewhere but my understanding is that 103 is basically full signal now.
At this point I am going to do a full realign myself and hopefully be all set, but anyone else with similar experience with any advice I'll take it.

My cables and dish are all 6 months old with the new slimline install. And since all receivers read the same I am suspecting realign or LNB failure rather than cables.

Oh yeah after this day I am not missing the new HD as much:D
