For those of you that have enabled RF on your remotes with RF for the HR20 700, How far have you been able to use the remote? What conditions are you under?

Regards,

:)

I use it about 40' away from the receiver with a room in between.

I haven't tested its limits, ie where it stops working, but it works from at least 40 ft away.

Thanks guys....keep the info coming! I hope to avoid having to set up another IR repeater system as I already have 2 of them.

I believe you can go up to 200' away. I've tested it at about 200' and it does actually work.

Brandon do you have a remote for one HR and another for your other? Are they both RF?

WOW....got RF working finally! Thanks to Edmund for the tips...This eliminates me having to purchase an IR receiver/emitter setup! Will test the distance soon because its late here but works from the bedroom 15' away!

Years ago I bought a cheap RF amp from Radio Shack for my 4DTV RF remote. When I got my HR20 I moved it to that unit and it works great for extending the range.

Well I got the remote and walked all over the house. It works at least 100' away! I didnt take it across the street but will try that later on. Now my next step is to program the other one so that it will not interfere with this one! I love this forum....everyone is great!

I think your scale needs about 10 more selections on the top end...

I have tested it down the sledhill but it would not work from the creek. :)

Seriously, 120' down the hill is when my wife refused to check any more. She said, "Who on earth would care how far it works?"

Well I think we have an answer for her!

She also asked, "If you can't see the TV any more what does it matter if the remote still works?"

How do you explain something like that?

It's 73". If it weren't for being so far down the hill I would have seen the TV just fine.

Yea, it will definitely work farther then you can see your TV.
