So I am moving to the country and have to have sat if I want TV. I also have an RV that we use pretty frequently. Can I buy the RV system and use it in my house?
The best way to do this is to have 2 identical dish / LNB's for both home and the RV. Or , you have a regular dish / LNB for home and one of the phased array things for the RV.
Your asking your question backwards, it is usually can I get a system installed at home then take one of the receivers in the RV. Most RV usage is like 2 weekends a month but the home is used 7 days a week.
LNB = Low Noise Blocker (feedhorn). Which is the white "puck" or "knob" that is on arm of the dish.
What they are suggesting here is to have two identical set of dishes one in the RV and same in the home so that the transition is smooth, basically plug n play.
