scooper, jsk's method worked. And I only have to enter 1 or 2 digits for local channels, not a whole string. It's ridiculous that Dish doesn't put a - on the remote number pad.

jsk, That worked. Thanks. There used to be a simpler way to do this, though.... :( @olguy, Your method did not work on the 722. Don't know why they didn't put a - on these remotes.

In the past on my 722K DVR with OTA module, I could direct-enter a local channel and it would take me to the OTA HD channel. For example, to view local channel KSPR-HD OTA 33-1, I would enter 33 on the remote and it would take me to 33-1. For some reason, now when I enter 33, the 722 now...

Without a subscription, they are basically good door stops.

DOH! I misread the post and was thought the OP had an E86.

The guide is populated this morning. Looks like it would have done that when I forced a guide download. Oh well, at least it's working now. Glad I got the OTA module. The sat-delivered "HD" locals seem pretty soft in comparison.

Fayetteville, AR. It's not yet carried in HD by dish. The DMA I'm sub'd to is Springfield, MO. Sat is aimed at the Eastern arc. On my non-DVR HD receiver, the guide is populated. But not the 722k.

I just subscribed to Dish Network and have the 722k w/ OTA module. We get local OTA from two markets but I'm only seeing guide info for the locals we sub to on Dish. All the other channels just say "Digitial Program" in the program info. How do I get these other channels to show up in the...

This is the exact problem I'm having. Only difference is a reboot will not fix the bad DVR at all - not even temporarily.

What is the RF channel your channel 3 is using there? Or the call letters?

Page up/dn no longer works in the OTA add/remove local channels menu. Page up/dn now causes the channel field to go blank.

Got the update last night. One box is OK, but the other HR20-700 gives Searching for Sat Signal on MPEG4 channels and "Channel Not Purchased" on locals that are SD & MPEG2.

True. Post edited above. (You must be using a dish OTA tuner ;) )

True about the speed. Although the HR20 is hardly a speed demon, either.

There is an AM21 OTA add on for newer HR2x DVRs that don't have OTA built in. In fringe/weak signal areas, the AM21 OTA tuners work much better than the HR20's tuners and any OTA tuners that Dish offers.

I get an NBC affiliate OTA ~70 miles away. Enter your address below, to see the DTV (Digital Television) channels you may get OTA with an antenna: http://www.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/maps/

The actual RF channel numbers do not have sub channel designations. They are just "11" & "22"
  18. DIRECTV Programming
D* normally doesn't carry local digital sub channels. Good reason to keep your OTA antenna.
  19. DIRECTV General Discussion
Same here - DirecTV would be the first to get the disconnect call. 20+ channels of digital OTA, plus DVDs is really enough TV entertainment. Next in line to go, in order of first to go: 1. Prepay cell phone 2. Verizon/Alltel 3g internet (doesn't work right, anyway) I would not let the...
