I have seen this happen but not too recently. I am sure it happened in older software versions, but I don't think anything but a reboot brings back the local channel when it goes black now that I am running 211. John

You might provide some more details on the switch setup you are using. But if the problems moves when you switch cables it sounds like a bad switch or cable. John

Mine runs fine with two SW 64 outputs. John

I also have a Dish 6000 and 921. At renewal time I am planning on on just subscribing to the HD package with the Dish 6000. I will get my basics and Movies from other providers. I mostly use the 921 to timeshift over the air HD, so I will keep it unsubscribed for that. John

I don't think you are missing anything. I used mine with just an SW 64 for a while and it worked fine. If you get it running before the tech comes out just cancel the installation. John

I have seen my 921 go dark a couple of times since receiving the 211 update. This had never happened before. I think I was accessing the guide but not sure. Simplying hitting the power button on the remote twice brought it back to life. John

This is right up there with the 1394 port "promise". My 921 is working after being dead for a week, when it down loaded 211 last night I had hopes of getting a guide. I am disappointed again. The HD locals I receive are mostly from Providence, RI which are not available from Dish as far as I...

Mine is doing almost exactly the same thing. Dish is supposed to be sending a replacement. John

It can also record OTA HDTV and play it back to an SD TV. John

The only local HD stations on Dish are WCBS New York and KCBS on the west coast. You will need an over the air antenna. Joihn

It sounds like you hava a Dish 500 with dual outputs and internal switching between satellites. Each receiver can get either satellite. This will not work with a second receiver and the 921 since you need three outputs. There are several ways to do this all require replacing all of the feeds...

I think the 921 is a little better than the Samsung. John

Just for the fun of it I recorded the credits of Old School last night from both the 110 and 148 satellite. The result was lots of break up on the 110 satellite but none on the recording from the 148 bird. I also think it would be a good idea to change the title of this thjread to reflect the...

Mark Lamutt, Is what Mike D-CO5 says true about the guide not being available to people who don't subscribe to locals? John

Mark, Thanks for the explaination. Thats good news. I guess they will have a way to add a third channel 7 in your example 8200 = 7, if you also get analog 7 and a remapped digital 7.1 from over the air. John

You could add a second sw64 but you would need six power passing splitters at each of the sw 64's inputs. These are even available at Radio Shack for 10~12 dollars each, maybe cheaper elsewhere. John

I noticed pixellation during movement on HBO HD during an animated movie two nights ago on both my Dish 6000 and 921 with a signal strength of 95. It was so bad on Philadelphia Experiment 2 that the show was almost unwatchable. I assume these are encoder errors at Dish, and I hope they can get...

The sw 64 will work with the 921 and use two of the outputs. So you will only be able to connect two other receivers. John

It is not clear to me if any of your equiptment is Dishpro now. I doubt you can mix dishpro with legacy. If it is all legacy it is supposed to work with two sw21's between the dish 500 and dish 300 outputs. I have found that my 921 cannot find the third sat, if the dish 300 is aimed at 61.5...
