Our Fox affiliate WLOV's direct fiber cable feed to Comcast is three seconds ahead of their OTA feed.

Does anyone think it would be a good idea to build in WatchESPN streaming to the Genie? This would be very useful for games and events that are online only (ESPN3).
  3. Cable TV Discussion
Do a Google Search for something related to "hidden menus" on TVs. Put in your model number in the search as well. You might be able to adjust your screen there. I've had success with this on an old Samsung CRT HDTV with HORRIBLE overscan problems.

Those networks are included in the base packages for D*. You should still have them if you drop Sports Pack.

It became AXS TV. Ch 167.

Thank goodness for direct fiber feeds. Good to see that WTVA does that. WCBI should take note and offer direct HD fiber feeds of all their channels to cable and satellite providers. I would love to see better PQ on CBS.

PQ will not be good for either feed OTA. Cable and satellite should (hopefully) look fantastic due to fiber feeds.

WTVA, WLOV, and WKDH are fed to Directv via fiber. I'm guessing when they say "seamless transition", they mean it. The only major thing happening Friday will be the powering down of the channel 45 transmitter. The feed to Directv and other companies will not change. I'm also guessing that no...

I'm hoping ABC 33/40 is picked up, but I bet we will get WPTY.
  11. DIRECTV Programming
The sad part about this is WKDH has fantastic PQ because it runs no subchannels. On top of this, it never preempted network programing.

If WPTY (Newport, soon to be Nexstar) or ABC 33/40 (Allbritton) was smart, they would acquire the WKDH license and set it up as a semi satellite station retaining the current WKDH programming while adding their news. Not sure if this would be a good business model, but it would be to news from...

SEC broadcast contracts are not up for renegotiation due to the A&M / Mizzou expansion. I would bet that the SEC may be forcing NBC/Comcast to try to get carriage on D*, E*, U-verse, etc. It could also be possible that Comcast now genuinely wants to expand carriage of CSS in order to be in a...

Most likely a private network that can only be viewed by Busch employees for on the job training or something similar.

That is a shame. D* carried some of the NBC Bay Area Giants broadcasts last season.

Keep the antenna up for subchannels and those infamous carriage agreement problems. I am keeping mine up. One of the local channels (My Network TV on WCBI DT2 in Columbus / Tupelo, MS) is not being carried on D*. It shows a couple of SEC Network basketball games every year. The OTA setup will...

We have just received HD locals in the Tupelo / Columbus, MS area. In addition to this, we have been given an MPEG4 SD feed of our local CW affiliate. When viewed on an H20, the picture is shown in its proper 4:3 ratio. This is true of the H20 on new HD sets and older CRT sets. When viewed...

HD locals are up. Looks like the CW is stretched SD. Also, I'm still seeing what is supposed to be a CW feed on channel 14 that is actually E!.

They will launch Wednesday, March 21, 2012
  20. DIRECTV General Discussion
Several local sources have told me that the Tupelo / Columbus HD locals will be out of test and operational on Wednesday, March 21.
