+2. I met with one of the coaches from that game (not Rich) and would almost gladly pay $0.40 a month to have it re-played each year. Could care less about the long horn network nor would want a $0.01 added to my bill for it. Texas is big but there is a whole lot bigger rest of the country...

Oh heck. At this point all I care about is the red zone channel to leave on during the games...any supposition on the red zone channel only deal? I see DirecTV took the liberty to re-add NFLST to my bill even after I canceled for the upcoming season last year.

Agreed. I used to really like the DirecTiVo and did not care for the first-gen DirecTV branded DVRs that were where from wherever they were. The current DirecTV DVRs are so much better than the first-gen efforts. All history as far as I care... We'll see in October how much better things can...

Here is an odd one. I got two credits in June versus one and checked a few prior bills and they too had the credit. Perhaps I got one of the missing credits? I guess the blind squirrel does get a nut handed to him once in a while... Although I will be checking the July bill for the credit.

Was not aware the current season started. As stated we canceled for the upcoming season

There has to be some sort of clear "permanent" UV protectant that should work. A quick search only found things that would tend to be pricey. Coatings use to keep paind fading on helicopter pads, elevated water storage tanks for towns, etc. I'd just try some spray on clear coat with a claim...

After NFLST since 1997, last season with some really odd billing issues was enough for me and I cancelled out for this season before last season ended. For those that are happy with NFLST I can only hope that DirecTV finds a way to make this season - whatever this season ends up being - a great...

It was not that long ago ESPN was $5.50 per sub per month. Other than the cable co's striking differing deals and wanting to honor confidentiality, I'd love to see per channel what cost what at DirecTV today.

SHHHHH! Let's not give DirecTV any ideas...

Last time I dealt with them was great as well. The person mentioned if you have more than one issue in one year (i.e., dead receiver and then a really, really bad storm that requires dish realignment) case management is automatically involved.

I get really lazy when it comes to tailgating and leave my main focus on the pure fun (cooler of beer and a bag of chips does it for me). We tailgate at St. Johns Ave before the Friends Inn on your way to the stadium on the same street as Mickey D's. We have friend(s) that come in from DC...

Hey EngravEER, Fellow Mountaineer here. We have been tailgating for the last 21 seasons in Morgantown (wife and I work for WVU). Decided against the HD tailgate myself this season after much thought, so I'd love to hear how it all works out for you. Good luck!

Remind everyone at the end of September! Good info - had not noticed either.

I appreciate everyone's reply and agree in sentiment with the general feelings expressed. Nothing going on here - marketing, etc. Thanks for the feedback. Let this thread evaporate like so much of that oil in the gulf..

Did a quick search and did not see anything. Got an email inviting to sign up with DirecTV as an "insider" so they can get cutomer input, etc. Has this been going on for a long time? Anyone try it to see if it is more than fluf?

$5 X 12 mos. = $60 a year. Given all equipment is now leased and all the protection plan gets you on a box replacement is the $20 shipping reduced to free...depends on how much trouble you expect with dish. The value is questionable. Depends on your friend's circumstances I guess.
  18. DIRECTV General Discussion
Agreed. I suppose there is no way to shrink the reflector without making tuning extremely diifcult - if not impossible.

Given the price reduction with the sat-go, curious if there have been rumors for a HD version. Perhaps a new version of the 3 sat dish may be compact enough to use with it? Of course a non-DVR HD receiver and an extra 3 sat dish will likely always be a cheaper route for tailgates, etc... Just...

The NFLST thread has all the details but here is a quick re-cap: Early Bird is 7 payments of $44.99 Auto renewal is 6 payments of $49.99 ...a difference of $14.99 cheaper for auto renewal. Note neither include the $20 per month off for six months that is discussed in great detail in the...
