FXX and FXM are back for me.

    Daughter's doesn't even have that. Just run-flats.

September of 1994. Fiance' had done a paper on USSB for her MBA program so I knew about it and what was coming. We got married and bought a house in September of 1994. But the house was on a new street that hadn't been completely built out, so no cable yet. While we were on our honeymoon, my...

I guess I am in the minority, but I don't really consider Stream, YTTV or similar a streaming service. It is just a traditional MVPD with a different delivery method. No different than when DBS came on the market to compete with cable. To me, cutting the cord means going with Netflix, Prime...

Great idea. I wish I had mine here to give that a try.

There was a guy on Reddit looking to extract the Gemini software and put it on a Osprey box. Doesn't look like he has gotten anywhere yet:

I bet I still won't be able to stream Arliss or Dream On. :(

Have you seen the prices? Not cheap for sure.

Then what is the right approach? Keep in mind, on Stream you could remove channel numbers and go ALPHA if you wanted to. Something for everyone unless you simply don't want people to have channel numbers even though it takes nothing away from you if they do.

Can they still learn commands from the OEM remote? If so, then this is a nothing burger. Until URC was forced to allow end users to update their device databases, this was a normal thing. Still have to on occasion.

If I am watching something on say TBS and I want to flip over to the game on ESPN, with channel numbers it can be 3-4 button presses (all depends if you are an "Enter" or "Wait" person) and I am there. Any idea how many button presses that would require on YTTV on Stream with a Roku? Way too...

Because it is easier to use. At least for us in our 50's or older. In reality it works more like a traditional cable/sat box with buttons for Guide and List. Plus channel #'s. When YTTV got NFLST, I signed up and gave it a try. From a PQ standpoint, it was great. But scrolling though all...

States, no. Region yes. The closer you are to the equator, the higher in the sky the satellite will be. So less rain fade regardless. And the closer to the mid-point of the satellites, the better as well. The 101 is just east of Lubbock, TX.

Not as bad as calling both the sat client and streaming box by the same name. Nothing good can come of that. Unless you can download the other firmware in the field.

Does the satellite Gemini box have a coax connector? Edit: Found a connection diagram. It does not. Looks like it uses a MOCA adapter or similar. And do you have to use the remote that came with it. Or can you use an RC7x?

    Stream.

But will my old Osprey box receive satellite signals? There is going to be confusion if both boxes have the same name, but don't do the same things. As to fees, I think it is insane that DirecTV is shutting down SD, but still charges $10/mo for HD. They should have rolled that into the the...

I did have a child. And she was not allowed to watch teen programming even though many of her friends were. I guess parents figured if it was on Nick, it was fine. It was not. As for Spongebob, I would highly recommend it for any kid. They all treat each other with respect and kindness and...

Hadn't even thought about that. Children may be adaptive, but some parents won't want their 7 year old watching teen programming.

Do you live on the west coast? I will shorty and I assure you that there are things that are missed. Tonight on TNT they are showing Furious 7 as their primetime show. Great if you are on Eastern or Central time. But if you are on Mountain or Pacific time, that main TNT channel is showing...
