I have received Sunday Ticket from Directv for a number of years although that was never the reason for having a dish. The reason I have Directv is because living in a very rural part of the country, I can't get cable or other TV service. I do get some channels off-air but the bulk of viewing...

I already recorded a chat session in which I was given that promise. I have no desire to give up any of my C41 or HR but was wondering if there was a benefit to adding the Gemini to my system. I just can't think of a purpose since I already have internet available through all my smart tvs.

My current 5 TV setup is a Genie HR44 in the living room, two Genie mini C41 and two DVR HR24 in bedrooms and study. We have 20 Mbps internet. Directv has offered me a free Gemini receiver to add to my system. I can already stream on any of our smart TVs. I am assuming this would be...

Exact same issue here. I can usually watch games for two or three days and then have to authenticate again. This is after years of only having to do it once in the spring.

I just received this "free" offer yesterday in an email. I currently have $23 monthly discounts on my bills "until the next equipment upgrade." So to accept this free offer would cost me $276 annually for something that I would hardly use. No thanks.

All providers will charge whatever maximizes their profits. Right now streaming is relatively cheap because there is high competition for customers. As services eventually merge so that the number of viable services go down and the customers increase, prices will also go up until the balance...

I have received ST from Directv for free the past 2 or 3 seasons. I am willing to pay that price. At $499 that I was offered by YouTube, or even at $299 or $199, I'll watch whatever games are on the local channels just as I did before the DTV free offer. I might consider it at $49. Might.

Try Solid Signal if you can't find one locally. That's the route I had to take.

This happens most frequently on certain sports channels (600's & 700's) and a few non-sports. What is the most common cause. I'm thinking antenna alignment issues would cause picture and sound problems.

No kids in the house here. I only have password protection for when some kids visit but I've used the password more recent than any visits. It worked just a couple days ago but now some show titles are blocked and I can't access the setup to make changes.

Thanks, I'll do that. I just wonder why the password that I've been using for years suddenly stopped working and if it won't just happen again.

I have 4 receivers in our house. All 4 have the same password for parental controls and other changes and have had the same password for several years. Yesterday one of our HR24 stopped accepting that password. Is there some way I can bypass or reset the password?

Actually, I've already taken that move. Help is on the way.

This morning the scan is approaching 2450% and 10,000 errors fixed. Called Directv and was told they couldn't do anything until the scan is complete. I asked how long a scan should take and was told anywhere from 3 hours up to 3 days.
  15. DIRECTV HD DVR/Receiver Discussion
That would be a correct assumption. It's now up to 1087% and nearly 4100 errors corrected. I'll be calling for a replacement in the morning.

My DVR rebooted several hours ago and now is at: I just wonder how it can scan 612.80% of a disk. Also, how does it correct more errors than it finds?

And it was Jay's contract that allowed him to move back to the late night job when his ratings were zero for the earlier time slot. It was a joint effort between NBC and Jay.

We average one or two power outages per day here so have UPS boxes on all electronics. I have 9 APC units in the house, all in the 1200 - 1500VA range. The two Cyber Power units I had both failed in far too short a time and were throw aways. I can only recall one APC ever failing (over 12...

Leno gave up his late night spot to Conan but then when Jay's early time slot was a total flop he booted Conan out of the deal. Because of contracts, Conan couldn't appear anywhere for a year or two.
  20. TV Show Talk
Nope. Never did like Conan at all. Fallon is funny, Leno less so, Conan only to a certain age segment. Even with that Conan might have succeeded if he had not been screwed by Leno. Leno and Letterman each have had their own fan base. Fallon will steal some of Letterman's and retain most of...
