they are trying to put a tower up in our rural community but where I thought people would be happy to finally get decent internet, I find out they're fighting it because of the aesthetics... currently we pay $30/mo. for less than 1M download...

Amen to that! I even record and fast forward through the awful commercials and other garbage during the Super Bowl!

Very interesting. I always wondered if something like that was possible. I have such low bandwidth I can't stream anything so Netflix is not an option. This could help them reach many people like me.

There is a message saying SundanceTV Free Preview Now! I'm assuming it's because of the upcoming premiere of Top of the Lake Season 2, but I can't find anywhere how long it's going to be available. Any idea when it ends?

yup, woke up early to renew for the next three months (cancelled a couple days ago) and it's gone. I'll keep checking, but fear all good things must end and that time is now...

whether it is or isn't the fact i didn't know would make it surprising to me, hence my warning to others who also may not have known. thanks for your comment though.

No, I didn't. That's one of the reasons I was surprised.

FYI, just a warning. I have a Genie and I set up Ash v. Evil Dead, seasons one and two to record and even though there were scheduled airings coming up it started downloading episodes from VOD, which of course I would not have been able to watch after the freeview was over., I went back and...

not able to get anything off of HBO on demand last night or this morning (haven't tried anything else but it's saying unable to connect to DirecTv). My HR44 is wired and so is my whole house HR22 and both are having the same issue rebooted receiver and router, no Luck (one of the shows I'm...

hmmm, I'll try again next time, but all the other times there has not been an option for that for me; very strange

I wish it took only a few minutes. Unfortunately you can't cancel it on line, you have to call in. I've been on hold for long stretches many times and have had to call back many times. Then, if I'm lucky I can do a voice command cancel, but if I'm not they make me talk with a rep to cancel who...

I wish that were true. I've had many bad experiences with HBO and Cinemax having missing episodes of series. I've called DirecTv and HBO, and sent emails to both and of course each one always blames the other...

That's really interesting. I wonder how long the offer is available?

the most shocking thing about that movie was that it really wasn't too bad; everyone expected a train wreck but it was entertaining enough and had it's moments; hell, I could easily name a dozen movies that were worse last year...

I find Showtime to have terrible quality, especially dark scenes. I watch on a 100" projected screen and at times it's almost unwatchable. If it's something I care about I will download the VOD version as they seem to be much better quality. Try that and see if it makes a difference!

referring to True Detective 2 probably... which leads me to ask, was it really that bad? I know people were disappointed but taken on it's own is it something you actually regret wasting your time watching?

Nice. Unlike HBO, Showtime shows movies in their original aspect ratio.
