The original WNC SWM LNBs, model #s SL3SPIG-WNC and SL5SPIG-WNC, are susceptable to frequency drift in extreme cold temps. I replaced three over the last 2 weeks and at least 50 last winter in North East Indiana. If your LNB looks like the one linked below, change it before it gets cold in...

Yes, the unused ports on the SWiM splitter should be terminated. That is not causing your current issue, though. Place the SWiM Power inserter BEFORE the splitter. Attach the cable from your Dish to the Power to SWiM port on the Power Inserter. Attach a cable from the Signal to IRD port on...

The link that was provided is a component video (Blue, Green, Red) to composite video (yellow) converter. The video output is then connected to an rf modulator, converting the composite video (yellow) and audio (R/W from HDDVR) to a coaxial output and fed to your remote TV. Sounds to me like...

That will work fine. I would disconnect the HR24 from the SWM network. Connect the HR21. Repeat satellite setup, configuring for single tuner setup. Then reconnect the HR24. Good Luck!!

Did you see any improvements after these tricks? Good Luck!!

Be prepared for disappointment. "Still within my 90 days" indicates that a service call has been generated. This should not have been generated as a service call, and should have been generated as an "upgrade" for an ODU relocate. Someone signed off on the current location of the installed...

You are most welcome!! Glad all is well!! Good Luck!!

The OP can certainly do it that way instead. Although, that would defeat the purpose of the currently connected BB DECA at the router. 2 receiver DECAs can be had for much less than a WIFI DECA BB on eBay. Good Luck!!

The THR22s each need a RECEIVER DECA (as shown below) to connect to the network as currently wired. http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=DECA1MR01&d=DIRECTV-Ethernet-Coax-Adapter-DECA--(DECA1MR01) Good Luck!!

That is the new "stubby mount". Everyone will love this new mounting option. Glad all went well!! Good Luck!!

Looking at the distance of 150' to the house, plus another 80' from distribution, which system would be more robust, especially during rain-fade events. A) SWM-Integrated LNB w/amp B) Slimline LNB w/four cables feeding a SWM-8 module at distribution (150"), plus the 80' from SWM module. Also...

I don't know what you consider 25 minutes of your time to be worth, but eBay has plenty of $10 RF remotes. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=directv+rf+remote&_sacat=0 You will want 2, unless you plan on carrying your remote from floor to floor. Good Luck!!
  16. DIRECTV Connected Home
The H24 has an internal DECA as well as an external ethernet connection. Powering up or rebooting the H24 with an ethernet cable connected will disable the internal DECA, and allow the external ethernet port to function with your hardwired MRV setup. Be aware the newest H25 receivers do not...

First thing is to determine if the channel losses happen simultaneously on each receiver. ESPNHD is on the 99(c) satellite, transponder 13. ESPN2HD is on the same bird, same transponder. In theory, when ESPNHD goes SFSS, so should ESPN2HD. Verify that you have acceptable signal levels on the...

+1 on this approach. I would bet most installers would be happy to comply if compensated for their time & effort. Worse case scenario, you have 2 HD-DVRs installed at the main house and will need to self-install or hire locally for the outbuilding connection. Good Luck!!

Huge thanks to Jason at WISE-DT 33 for his hard work in at least temporarily solving this issue in time for the Super Bowl. BOO to DirecTV for their poor handling of the situation and serious lack of communication at all levels.
