Garmin, You said that they got rid of the MDU provider, do you mean the company that does the service on the equipment or do you mean DTV as a whole? How much experence do you have in dealing with Sat set ups and this type of equipment? This setup that is installed is a master feed system...

Short story, a couple of years ago several people try doing that and after a long hard battle, it was descovered that no matter what they did, they could not get it to work with DTV

The H 24 is a single wire (swm) reciever. In order to use the 4 wire out put of the lnb that you have, you will need to get some thing like the swm 8 muliti switch, or get a single wire lnb with the power insturter and then your reciever will find the satellites easier.

What part of Colombia were you at? Hard to believe that you had/have DTV service their even tho the Satellitte is just about over your head as the service beam is centered for North America. San Andres is way to the east and would be even harder to get service even with a bigger dish.

OK everyone, GET A LIFE. This post when to hell a long time ago. This post was about a RECIEVER not now to point a dish. Way back all of this dish pointing should have been in it's own post. AND just for the hell of it, I have been installing DTV dish's since it became DTV and I have...

Two things I see, 1) If your reciever signal meters is saying wrong sat on 101 and 110 but 119 is ok, then the dish is not of alignment. It needs to come east a few degrees. 2) If you have a friend that was an installer, then have him help realign the dish. Another thing is, all the old DRD...

The correct answer to the OP's question is, NO-YOU CAN USE A CARD FROM ANOTHER RECIEVER. What happened to the card for this D12? If it is lost, and it was active on your account at one time, call DTV and have a new card send to you. About $20.00. To everyone else, the OP has not said any...

Perfect 10 is the biggest and main supplyer of cable for DTV. Even at that, the cost is $70-$80 a spool. Unless you can make an account with the manufacture and order several thousand spools at a time, several times a month you are not going to get it any cheaper.

Many years ago there used to be a full metal staple that had a small plastic on it for cables. Over the years just about the only thing that is still available and is requmended by both the cable compamys and sat companys is the RB2 RB4 staple system. These are are plastic with just two metal...

This can be a tough answer. Depending on the state, if you work for a contractor, they will have all the insurance that the state requires. If you are the contractor, then you need to check with your state licenseing deparment for there requirements. In my state, in order to get my contractor...

peds that is a RCA connector. Not good for TV F connections. I have used these for some stero runs and they work very well. Use a tool for BNC to install them. I know of no F type compression push on's, need to use the adaptor.

Many years ago, back in the days of the old oringle digicon fittings, I had one of these and after using it two days, I found it was more truble then it was worth. If I had any problems installing any fittings, I found that if you took a cig liter and warmed the cable just a bit you could...

I know you may not like this, but I take it you just moved in, did you make an attempt to find out all theses answers BEFORE you moved in? NO? shame, shame. Having worked for and with not only MDU people but the customers also, I know that some times things do not seam right. If this is a...

My only question is, how is everyone doing these meserments? Are you using one of these watt-o-meters that plug into the wall AC? What are you using to just get the LNB readings? In order to get JUST LNB readings, you need to do some special wire splitting between the reciever or power...

The standard 6 is for standard off the shelf RG6 cable. The 6XL is made to be used on both the standard 6 AND the quad 6 cables. DTV WILL accept either connecter even thu on the approved materials list, it no longer lists the standard 6 connecter The 6xl is a tad longer and a micro milimeter...

you do not need to worry about the cable. it is designed to be in all kinds of weather for long periods of time. if you feel you REALLY need to protect it, put it in PVC pipe instead of metal. a single RG6 will fit in a 1/2 in pipe.

I maintain a couple of MDU's and based on how you stated the problem, here is what I see. 1) Do not move into this complex. 2) Move in and keep DTV and pay the $$. 3) Move in and cancell DTV and go cable, or with out. How, has stated in other reply's, when you move into a private maintaned...
