I've been here doing check switch tests and resetting my box for nearly an hour. 118 is showing a connection error and all my HD locals are out.

    What should I do?

And use right position numbers - 118.75W.

I thought that I had lost all communication with 118.75, but it's only certain transponders that I cannot pick up.

Pittsburgh HD Locals are on 15 and 16, and while 15 comes in fine, 16 is nowhere to be found.

Charlotte HD Locals are on 8 and 9, and neither of those come in.

Other transponders coming in ok - 4 and 10

    What could the problem be?

Align the dish for max signal on 118.75W, keep moderate levels for 110/119W.

I have a Dish 1000. How do I go about aiming it like that?

If you are picking up 118.7, then you have a Dish1000+ (not a Dish1000 or a Dish1000.2)... so keep that in mind when folks tell you about adjusting a Dish 1000.2. The Dish1000+ is a different animal.

I did correction of my post.

Just select mid level tpn from 118.75W, try to move your dish up/down/right/left by gently press your fingers on respective edges of the dish, see if signal will raise, then release nut(s) and move the dish in same direction; check signal on missed tpn(s), when it will come start using the tpn for tweaking. You'll need in-line sat-finder for $20 for precise tuning.
