7 years with ST.. The only time I ever got a deal was when I signed up for DTV, Last Year with ST, and when Versus was lost, I got my CI for half price.

No deal for me. Called 3x, 3 different CSR.. The last one offered me $5 off for 12 months. LMAO..

Lets remember, I have Premiere Package, Sports Pack, MLB EI, CI, ST, Sports Pack, HBO, and Soccer Plus. My bill runs near 200.00 sometimes over a month considering I have 5 Receivers, 2 DVR, and one HD.

Won't be doing ST this year due to cost.......but

(and I may be biased) the latest ST commercial with the 49ers fan moving into Green Bay area is just great material ("Dirt Bag" cheese and sausage tray). Almost influenced me to renew.

Just called and got the $20 off per month, making the total cost $180 for the season. I'm happy with that pricing.

    Thanks for the idea all!

    Rio Rico,...
I just called to subscribe to ST for the first time and couldn't get them to budge on the price. I'm pretty much getting shafted this year with the hopes of being eligible for some serious discounts next year.

Sometimes this is a matter of timing...when certain promotions run.

Sometimes you may just get a new CSR who doesn't know "all the ropes" of a promotion.

As others have stated...there may be other offers coming around soon regarding NFLST....if so...my guess is you'll hear about them first at DBSTalk.

Me neither, all I watched the last two seasons was RZC. I just called and got RZC stadalone channel for $0. I am very happy to save all that cash and now I dont have to walk down to the bar on Sunday (but I still might every now and then, ha)! Took me two calls though, the first CSR knew nothing about RZC.

Called, got a CSR who played coy, I just played it straight and told him I'd found out about a discount of 6x$20 on NFLST and I would like that discount. Got put on hold for about 90 seconds, and voila, done deal. They have some deals on movie channels...$7.99 for 3 months. OH... since I was a SUPERFAN sub last year, I confirmed they rolled the HD into the NFLST package and the TOGO package is a seperate deal at $49.95 for the season. I don't think I'll be using the computer or phone to watch many games (Football on my iPhone? Maybe an iPad, or other tablet.. but....), but kept it for now, it can be cancelled all the way up to the season kickoff in Sept.

Nothing like lowering the bill a bit. Been a DirecTV/USSB subscriber since 1996, and don't call on every little discount, etc. I'm not even sure if I'm in/out of contract at the moment.

I just called and got the following deal:

    1. NFL Ticket for 1 payment of $299.00 (minus a $120 credit) = $179
    2. NFL To-Go for Free

I also got 12 month of Free HD.

I have been a NFL Ticket subscriber for 6 years... I also call every year and tell them I am going to quit because new people get better deals -- took very little conversation to make this deal happen.

    Hey guys -

Been a DirecTV subscriber since 2007, when I had the new customer ST + Premiere offer. Did not renew the following year (before I knew about dbstalk and the potential deals!) and did not re-subscribe last year for a couple reasons. However, I'm looking to upgrade to a 105" projector in my basement and would love to play ST and/or RZC on it this fall. I am currently out of contract (I believe), have about $85/month bill, two HR20s, no other premiums/sports packages/ppvs/etc, with automatic bill payment.

Just wondering what makes the most sense for me to ask for when I call in later this afternoon. I would hope that at a minimum I could get the $20/6 months deal and would be happy with a total of $180 for the Ticket if thats the only deal I could get.

However, do you think I would have a decent chance of getting the ST + Premiere offer again if I asked and was fairly persistant about it, especially since I'm currently out of contract? Obviously that is an even better deal than the $20/6 months. My other thought was to possibly cancel my account, and have my fiance sign up as a new customer in order to get the Premiere deal... but didnt know if this was possible? Our last names are still different, separate phone numbers, but our address would remain the same. Would this make that impossible to do? The more I think about it, this might be ideal as I could potentially upgrade to newer equipment as a "new" customer install and get a $100 referral as both my parents and brother have DirecTV as well......

Any experiences with cancelling/signing up at the same address or should I just be content to go for the $20/6 month deal?! Thanks

The other thing I forgot to include would be the timing of calling in. It sounds like DirecTV's promotions are scheduled to reset tomorrow July 21st. I would assume this would be for the ST + Premiere promotion again, so it would seem my chances would be much higher to get that if I wait to call until later in the week. However, if the chances of me getting that promotion (barring the switch to my fiance as a "new customer" asked above) are very slim, I would like to take advantage of the $20/6 months as well as the $10/24 months Free HD promotion as I think that is supposed to end tomorrow.

What do you think - call this afternoon or wait til later in the week?

New subscriber to NFL and I got the following:

    20 off for 6 months

I then asked about the HD discount and got $10 off for the next 2 years.

just tell the rep you already called ((even though you didn't ))and was offered the 20x6 deal the day before by another rep....but you told that rep you had to "check with the wife first"..the rep should then give you the promo...that's what my friend did.

Not a bad idea and sounds pretty reasonable - I guess I was more concerned with losing the additional Free HD discount that expires tomorrow and that excuse wouldnt really fly.... "I need to check with my wife to accept free money". I could always call today just for that credit but was worried about putting any future deals at risk by already receiving that credit.....

I keep trying retention and they havent offered me anything special yet. Since I already have a 12 month, $10off credit on my bill from last year and the free HD they keep mentioning I already have two promotions. They offered me $10 off for 6 months but that requires me keeping the Premiere package which I am not interested in keeping after my 3 months special is up.
