Just received my new pricing and my bill went up 6.2%, from $96 to $102 (plus tax). What happened to the 4% that was mentioned by insiders? Still plan on suspending service for a month to offset the cost. Just have to wait now until the NHL season ends. At least I finally get HLN HD, which softens the blow.

I think that was an average. Some went up less (or not at all), others might have been more.

Just more of a reason that these channel content owners should be more flexible when they do the 'tango' for HD carriage.

On average they went up 4.5%. Some went up 2%, some went up 6%, some went up 4%, and every permutation you can imagine.

That's before tax, as well. Some states have no satellite tax, some do.

If you have DVR service and HBO, you went up $4. Someone without DVR and HBO, they went up $0...just to use a very quick example on how different it can be from one customer to the next.

    No.
In my case, I didn't even have to submit to autopay or paperless billing.

Guess the "advanced receiver fee" is $25.

    So my Bill increased $12.
    Much worse then I thought.

That is for newer accounts and rolls up the HD fee, MRV and DVR.

HD/DVR fee was $20, but you recieved a $10 discount with auto pay. I don't know what the new DVR fee is, because their press release was so unclear.

If I read correctly the $3 increase was for customers within their promotional period. At the end of the promotional period the fee is $25.

As noted early in the thread (copied from the bill insert):
Advanced Receiver fee $25/mo. reduced by a $2.00 bill credit for each month that Advanced Receiver fee is active during its promotional period.

Here are all the receiver fees (after promotional period):
Advanced Receiver-DVR fee ($10/mo.) required for DVR lease. Advanced Receiver-HD fee ($10/mo.) required for HD Receiver lease. Advanced Receiver fee ($25/mo.) required for Advanced Whole-Home DVR, HD DVR and TiVo HD DVR from DIRECTV lease. TiVo service fee ($5/mo.) required for TiVo HD DVR from DIRECTV lease. If you have 2 Receivers and/or one Receiver and a Client/Enabled TV/Device, the fee is $6/mo. For the 3rd and each additional Receiver and/or Client/Enabled TV/Device on your account, you are charged an additional fee of $6/mo. per Receiver, Client and/or Enabled TV/Device.

Damn need an attorney to make sense of any of that....So I'm paying $10 now for my Genie (after $10 credit for auto pay) and $6 for my 2 additional clients....$22 extra a month. It will be going to $25 a month and then after 2 years to $27 a month? Is that correct? And when I lose the $10 credit for auto pay after my first 2 years it will be $37, not $27? Is that correct? If that's the case that's unaccepatable and I will be looking for some kind of credit from them or switching back to Dish Network.

Go back and do your math again it looks like you added $10 twice. $27 sounds right but not the 37.

The $37 would refer to losing my $10 current credit for HD that ends after 2 years. Which I didn't even know they charged for HD until I came to this site. They never told me. I thought the $20 charge was all for DVR. Anyway looks like it's going up $3 and after my 2 year committment $5 unless they decide to pile on with more increases next year. Get a bit out of hand with the DVR fee's and need to kill off the charge for HD once and for all. The programming increase for Choice of $1 is more than fair. They are killing us on the equipment fee's and HD fee's.

The best place to start would be to look at your bill. If it was processed after February 7th it should have the new rates. If not you may have to wait until the next bill to find out where you stand.

The rates, fees and credits will be listed on the bill. What is showing on your bill?

No, it's for the entire house. The fee is actually $23 because there is a $2 offsetting credit. It is going up $3.00 from 2012 due to the DVR fee increase, etc. It's basically the same as having

    HD $10
    DVR $10
    MRV $3

    Total = $23

Some customers have these services line item by line item, others of a more recent starting date have them all bundled into one service called the Advanced Receiver Fee.

    http://www.directv.com/businesspackages/feb/2013_Price Increase_GM.pdf

"*Advanced Receiver increase of $3.00/mo. applicable only to customers with Advanced Receiver service, an account activation after 2/8/2012, and will be reflected as $23.00/mo. after a $2.00 offsetting bill credit for each month that Advanced Receiver fee is active during its promotional period."

Your $6 lease fee is totally separate, nothing to do with the advanced receiver fee.

Your bill is going up $3 in this area making the TOTAL of $23 net assuming you came on the date posted in the link I just gave. But since you have a $10 credit right now for auto bill pay, you're actually at $13. So it's only a $3 NET increase there. Obviously when your auto bill pay credit goes away, you will see that portion of the bill go up. Not sure how long you have that credit for.

Customers starting AFTER 2/7/2013 it is going up $5 to $25. Customers prior, goes up $5 but has a $2 offsetting credit to make the net increase only $3.

    Nothing has changed.
