Yeah but really wont help anyone bargaining wise on either side, not when you are talking about a channel that will exist for at least 20 years.

Sure it will. If people are actually watching the games currently, then other providers have reason to add the channel.

It's likely not one player will be on the team that's on it today in seven years. They don't do contracts based on one seasons ratings bump. Not for carriage deals. AD dollars yes.

Do they intend to charge this for people on the Entertainment package (pretty much no sports)? I moved to that when they introduced the RSN fee and I don't get the RSNs, or the fee. I'll be annoyed if they tack this on to a package DESIGNED for people who don't watch sports.

No, if you don't receive your local RSN in your package then you won't be charged the fee. I'm assuming you have either choice or entertainment package since you don't get your local RSN?

I wish that was true, I just switched to the Entertainment package and it still has ESPN which I know is hugely expensive. I would much prefer an Entertainment package without it.

Only 41 days until pitchers and catchers report.

    Any rumors on this?

According to the new rsn fee lookup tool, the rsn fee for Los Angeles is $3.63.

Doesn't really mean anything for the Dodgers Chanel. That's likely an increase simply for the others, but who knows...

If the fee is $3.63 per sub in the local market then I don't think that's unreasonably high. I think it's still higher than what it should be but it's way below the $5 mark originally thought. That's said I'm sure DirecTV will add the channel.

That $3.63 price doesn't necessarily represent the cost if the Dodger's channel is included.

That's a small increase for the three rsns we have now and really has nothing to do with the dodgers channel. I honestly kind of hope no one really picks it up, at least for a while. The number of rsns is getting out Of hand.

If it's $5+ why not make it like TSN jets that is like an $10 mo add on (and it's only for the NHL season)

Oh hey I'd be all for the channel sold a la cart. Good luck with getting them to agree to that though.

I hope DIRECTV makes some sort of annoucement soon as the only reason I currently have DIRECTV service is to view Dodger games, I activate it for 6 mos at the beginning of every baseball season.

Well don't expect it to be on till a week or so into the season if at all. You won't see it when it lights up I don't think.

I've subscribed to the MLB EI from the first year it was offered. Note that I am in an "internet bandwidth challenged" area, so this is my best option to get the games.

If the Dodgers channel is not there by the middle of March, I plan to cancel my sub to MLB EI and send an email to the president's office explaining why.

You may be waiting awhile as I see time warner wanting an absurd amount and most if not all tv providers will hold out until time Warner goes down significantly with their asking lroce
