Yesterday I wanted to record a Hi-Def program downconverted to standard def. The image is letterbox. Does anyone know of a setting on the 6000 that will anamorphically squeeze the image and take away the black bars? The reason why I'm asking is that I would like to timeshift the recordings but still be able to view them in "full" mode on my 16X9 HDTV giving me the best resolution possible in standard def.

No way to do it that I know of Chris, it should be noted this is how Bell ExpressVu offeres some shows in "Super Definition" The picture does seem clearer on a regular TV this way.
