Which would be the best for the above combination? Two dishes, one on 61.5 with single lnb, one on 72.7 with DP twin lnb or two dishes, one on 61.5 with single lnb and one dish 500 with single lnb with y adaptor and DP 21 switch. I have a 30 inch dish on 61.5 and don't want to give it up for a 1000.4

You can't get 77 in combination with any other sat on a single dish, with the exception of the 1000.4 dish, so, the only other reasonably-possible combo is a Dish 500 pointed at 61.5/72.7 with a DPP Twin and a wing dish pointed at 77 with a DP single or dual LNB. But that won't really get you much...

    Couldn't he use the 30inch 61.5 and the 1000.4 (for 72.7 / 77) by using a DPP33 switch ?

My suggestion if you want to keep the 30 inch dish for 61.5 would be to get a 1000.4, cover the eye for 61.5 on it with aluminum foil or something of the sort to block it. Then connect the line from thee lnb on the 30 inch dish to the lnb in port on the 1000.4. That will get you all 3 satellites. I'd only do this if you are in an eastern arc market though.

Good suggestion Puck. I may do that. However, I don't need the 77 location, nothing on it that I watch and I understand that everything on it will be moved to 72.7 this year.

A Dish 500 has enough "slop" in its aim that it can be used for 61.5 and 72.7.

The signal will be slightly lower than an exact aim at 2 sats 9-10 degrees apart, but it does work.

I'm not sure what you are implying. Where did you hear about everything being moved off 77? 72 & 77 work together like 119 & 110. Everything on the 2 "western arc" satellites are duplicated on 72 & 77. Why would they spent the money to develop the 1000.4 dish if 77 is being abandoned?

Nothing is being moved off 77.

There has been some wild speculation that things will be moved off 61.5, but if Dish gets a reliable satellite over there they will probably move stuff back to it later this year.

There are not enough transponders for all the necessary channels on two satellites.
