I am running two 622's off a Dish 1000 with DP44. My problem is that my signal strengths aren't terrible, but the signals drop drastically with even slightly bad weather. I think my 110/119 signals are around 98 strength, and my 129 is in the low 80's, which i thought was pretty good. Apparently though, its not good enough for a heavy overcast sky.

I have had multiple times where its not raining, and the clouds do not appear to be terribly thick, but i will lose 129 and sometimes even 119, even though i get the strongest signal off 119.

I would really like to not put two dishes on the roof, but i do have an extra dish 1000 i could pair up with my current dish 1000.

What is everyone's opinion in regards to the effectiveness of a Dish 1000.2 in place of my current dish 1000. Or would it not be that much of an improvement and i should just put two dishes up?

Im in Sc and my dish 1000.2 was not so hot, so I have it on 110/119 and added a 500 for 129. 2 dish's is really the way to go.

I currently have two (2) dish 1000's. One is being used, the other is just sitting in the basement. Would the Dish 1000 work well enough as a second dish or do i need to go out and buy a dish 500?

Have you peaked your D1000 for 120. I peaked mine a couple of weeks ago and the drop-outs went away.

Installers peak on 119 then tune in 110 and 129, but since 129 is the weak sister, they need to detune 110 and 199 just a bit to bring 129 up to similar signal levels.
