On the guide on the PPV channels I noticed the following movies are 99 cents starting today.
    SD Channels are

    Channel 526 - Skyfall
    Channel 527 - Argo
    Channel 528 - Hotel Transylvania
    Channel 529 - Taken 2.

They are available in HD on channels 502 - 505.

It's really rare for us to order PPV (usually just run to Redbox) but at $.99 we'll do it. Watching ARGO now and later today, probably Skyfall.

For only 99 cents and in HD, that is reasonable. $6.99 no way.

    Thanks for the headsup, dennispap.

Just tuned in to check it out, got a "limited recording" note in yellow on the confirmation dialog box.

    Anyone know what that means?

Ok, never mind, think I have it now. Pay, record, watch once within a 24hr period.

    I guess.

SWEET! Ordered Taken 2. Can't understand why this has not been done before. Of course I would rather order from home than go to Redbox. I hope these 'sales' become the norm.

They do this about once a year. A few years ago they did 3 hour blocks of playboy for 2 cents.

You can record it more than once within the 24 hrs for no extra charge, and don't start to watch them until you want, next week, month etc.. You have to see what is the time period. Usually something like 6am til 6am.

Limited Recording means once you begin viewing the recording event (PPV), you have 24-48 hours, depending on the event, to view the recording as many times as you like. The time does not begin until you actually begin watching the event the first time. If you don't watch the recording immediately, it is saved to your DVR HD several weeks before you relinquish access to the movie if it is not viewed within that time frame.

I remember last time this was offered. I recorded one and did not get around to viewing for a few weeks. When I tried, it was disabled.
    What's up with that?

The rumor is this is a market test. If Dish can make the same amount of money on 99 cent due to the increased number of purchases they will do this all the time just like RED BOX.
The idea is RED Box makes money on older movies like these, so can Dish on 99 cents.
Please rent all 4 if you can before it expires.
