ESPN Full Court does not pick up the ACC games yet they do for the SEC. ACC games are blacked out on the sports pak out-of-market and SEC games are not.

Someone tell me why this is so stupid?

It's part of the SEC's TV contract with ESPN that ensures national coverage of SEC football & basketball.

The SEC raised a few eyebrows prior to the start of the 2009 CFB season when the SEC was adding affiliates to their syndicated ESPN TV package outside of the SEC footprint. Prior to the SEC's massive TV contract with ESPN kicking in with the 2009-10 academic year, the SEC was exploring launching their own network (similar to the Big 10 Network).

Instead of going through the hassles that the Big 10 Network had when the network started, the SEC is using existing over the air channels and sports channels across the country to form the SEC Network.
