Just had a installer came that was putting up a dish to get my hd locals through the satellite and he said I had a 1000 older dish and I needed either a 1000.2 + extra dish or a 1000.4 to get the hd locals and they ended up taking the 1000 down and putting up a 1000.4 but now the sd locals have dissappeard. should I still be seeing the sd locals or not?

Are you looking at your downmapped locals, i.e the channel numbers that match your real local channel numbers? If so my guess is your receiver is setup for 'HD Priority' which hides the SD version of a mapdown if the HD version exists.

If you go into the Menu -> System Setup -> Local Channels -> Chan Display you can check your settings. If you want to see both you can select that there.

Forgot to add, if you want to keep your mapdowns the way they are you can also go the 8xxx range version of your SD channel and watch it there.

This shouldn't happen. I would give Dish a call.

Dish said sd locals were on 110 and the new dish that was put up does not look at 110 so I am out of luck I guess.

    What is your market?
Depending on that you may have only lost the SD locals associated with the HD locals you gained.

You should get WKLE 9211/46 and WLJC 9212/65.

Those along with the 4 network HD channels should complete your locals package on The Eastern Arc. They do not duplicate the Network HD with the SD as is sometimes the case on Legacy service.

I know in my DMA this happened. On 77W they don't have the SD locals that are uplinked in HD. Only those that aren't available at all in HD. You're either letter-boxing or zooming. I don't blame them for saving the bandwidth, but it's going to cause some growing pains.

If it's important you can always point a Dish 500 at the old Western Arc location for the other SD locals.

    110 stations are on 77
    119 72.7

    if that makes sense

sd locals used to be on 72 although 110 on dish 500 in other words 110 are mirrored on 77
    72.7 119

but no distant locals what needs to be done is wsbk must be on 61.5 with this new 1000.4 in lieu of 119 now i get error message but channel 236 is located on 72 i should double check simply put the 8775 position should be removed from the guides memory
