Can a second hard drive be added to the 501 to get
    longer times out of it?
It seems that alot of people have done it with there
Direct Tv boxes but I cant seem to find much out about doing that with ours ours.

    Thanks

Nope...the drive is married to the receiver, so replacing it with a larger drive won't work. Also, the drive format isn't readable by a computer, so ghosting an image of it onto a new drive isn't possible either.

This topic will be moved to the Dish PVR forum in a day or so. Look for it there if you wish to continue it.

I've read about some peeps trying it but, they had no success.
