Pressing 1000, then browsing from there. Mostly using "More Channels"

Would like to use a color button.

Now that some of you have had VOD for a few days (if not a week)...

How are you accessing the VOD listings? Are you keying in 1000 (or some other channel). I key in 1000 about 50% of the time and use the guide about 50%.

I use both channel 1000 and the other channels to make selections.

How do you think this could be improved, to make VOD a little easier to find and use.

    1. Single button to bring up the guide to channel 1000.

    2. Search the VOD library under all categories as part of the current Search engine.

    3. When you send a selection to the Queue, be able to download the selection NOW or select a later time to download, say in the middle of the night when your computers are shut down and 100% of your bandwidth is available.

I like the Active idea... How about a hidden menu option to change the definition of the active button?

Using the Guide then keying in 1000 to see the list of channels. I would like to see VOD in the Menu, this is how AT&T Uverse does it & it works slick, no guide & channels, just Menu>VOD & list of VOD services appear.

I would say I've been 80/20 towards in favor of punching in 1000 vs using the guide.

(My guide checks have basically been to see if any new channels have popped in)

Overall, while I would love a color button click to go directly to 1000, if there is a button available, I'd rather see that assigned to toggling captions on and off.

However, if it were down to one button and a choice between the two, the revenue generating option would likely need to take precedence.

I have primarily used the guide, but have occasionally typed in 1000 direct.

I would like to see VOD on the quick menu below Help and Settings and above My Playlist, but a dedicated color button would be fine as well.

I key in 1000 and go to more channels.

umm well everyone you should know that VOD will be a guide filter, watch D* Basics and you see the filter "Boradband Video" most likely they will use that for VOD but change the name.

Color button to get to 1000 would be nice.

I'll give this a +1 and also add me to the list of using a colored button (red) too.
I punch in 1000 and go from there.

    Somebody said, way up there:

    LIST>LIST

The more I think about it, the more this makes sense. Heck, they used to call the Playlist "My VOD" anyway. It fits in with the guide button convention, and a second press of the list button only exits the list now.

I think it also makes logical sense...
One press of the LIST button, and you see your pre-recorded VOD (i.e. your playlist), and on your second press of the LIST button, you see your DIRECTV stored VOD. It just kinda makes sense to me.

I like the idea of a colored button as well, though.

Just, please, for the love of Pete, don't make it a press-and-hold.

...my big problem with changing the way the ACTIVE button works is, it's inconsistent with other receivers.

I just enter 1000, but would be better with one button or a option in the guide somewhere.

I would suggest putting a link in the main menu of dvr sytem, or a colored button on bottom of cetain pages in menu and guide

I vote for one of the colored buttons, unless they do some changes the active button menu takes to long to load.
