    I don't have a sniffer, any free ones out there?

    I had the HR23 with the exact IP of my DMZ so that wasn't good. I switched that and it connects to the internet fine. But I can't get it to find the TVersity server, yet the PS3 does.

    To get the PS3 to work, I didn't have to do any thing on the PC. So I'm hoping I don't have to on the HR23 either. The PC is wireless.

    The best free one is probably wireshark - http://www.wireshark.org/

    I have "Use has DHPC server" checked on my router and the IP's of every thing falls in between these numbers. Is this normal?

    FINALLY got the HR23 to see the computer after allowing a bunch of firewall exceptions.

    But now I can get to the list of videos and they have the little picture of a movie reel to reel but when I hit select on any of them it starts to play it, shows me the info bar with the name of the show....and then says "There are no playable files in this folder."

    Help? I thought TVersity was going to play these avi's anyway like on my PS3?

    How did you do this? I went to the site that the question referred to and you gave this link...

    I'm trying to stream http://www.energy981.com/listenlive.html but I don't know what to look for, specifically the music stream. :confused:

    In TVersity I use: For Energy 98: "http://www.energy981.com/Energy98_128WM.asx"
    may work in WMP11 also. You can try it.

    Pretty sure that's how it works. Your router sounds like it's set up to assign IP addresses in the range specified on the router config page. I've had better success with TVersity and the like by setting all my hardwired network devices (PS3, TiVo, etc.) to static IPs outside that range (but still in the normal range of the subnet (192.168.x.2 through 192.168.x.254). That way, things are more stable and predictable for all streaming software.

    For example, I have my router set to assign .50 through .99 to any wireless devices (or new things I connect), while I hardcode other, established devices to .100+.

    That said, I still have yet to assign static IPs to my two HR2x receivers. Thanks for reminding me!

    Now its saying it can't access "Energy 98" then says its gathering content. Sits for about 2 minutes then goes back to regular tv

    Some debugging you can try:

    The asx has 2 ip addresses:

    <Ref href="http://216.155.137.148:8800"/>
    <Ref href="http://205.188.215.230:8000"/>

    If you go to the http: address - you should see the Shoutcast status page
    Change the address to rtsp: and you should get the Shoutcast stream

    If that works I would test your dns server has the correct entries using nslookup.

    All I did to get it to work is to use "add item" under Internet Audio and used http://www.energy981.com/Energy98_128WM.asx, as the audio url. Plays great through my HR20-700.

    Thats a weird one - what is in the avi files (DiVX, H264, mp3, AC3, etc ) ? Just an initial guess - the PS3 probably natively supports the format, but when TVersity tries to transcode for the HR something is happening maybe ?

    Also what version of TVersity - you might try going back a version as I have seen a couple of 'used to play - now it doesn't' messages over on TVersity's board.

    I have the same thing happening only with Hulu. Playable files are there but I get the same message.

    After using WMP since the whole MediaShare access began...and being quite happy with how it worked...I now have to share the following:

    I tried TVersity as of 2 weeks ago, using the latest version.

    Setup was surprisingly easy...it recognized all my networked devices with no effort.

    I also configured all my selected options in under 4 minutes.

    Photos, video (including Internet-based content), and music all work on all the devices connected perfectly. Not one problem since installed.

    Honestly...this thing works great, and with what appears to me to be better performance than WMP11 ever did for me.

    I am a believer in TVersity.

    Ditto, I tried TVersity once and have not looked back. It has done everything it advertised. But I did tweak it a bit by installing the K-Light Mega Codec pack.

    Where are we at with WMP and ff/rw on audio files with the HR20-700? I just tried it and I got the same jumping to the next track or starting the current one over again. I found a post from '07 that mentions this and lots of posts about trick play troubles. But never a mention that this works now or not.

    You are lucky. I have never been able to get WMP to work well. Videos lock up almost every time. TVersity has been rock solid for me. Plays my video including HD video, great. Also love the way you can stream Internet audio and video to the HRXX.
