I see where the HD-DVR receivers are getting a new NR that includes a "quick-tune" feature, which I gather is much like the TURBO feature on the old Hughes receivers. Are there any rumors if those of us who have no desire or need for the DVR will be getting this feature?

Quick-tune (or turbo tune) was the ability to pick a set of 9 (or so) favorite channels and access them without having to hit their channel number.

In the HR2x series of DVRs, hitting up arrow brings up a 3 x 3 matrix that you can put your favorite channels into.

    Merry Christmas!

To add to what Tom said, the quick tune option is part of the latest (staggered) national release, so not everyone has it (including me :( ).

WOW! We are getting something back that we had in the late 90s (as I recall) on the old GM/Delco/Hughes and RCA receivers. It was really useful and am glad we are finally getting it back. :D

Next, maybe they can allow us to move between the favorites lists like we used to be able to do as well.

    That's outstanding...
...and I actually saw where its been included in some of the H21 CEs. I hope it won't be far behind coming in the H20-series!

It'll be very far behind, actually. The H20 won't be getting updated with the new software, and is considered obsolete at this point.

    Well that is just poopy!

I guess I may have to take advantage of the recall of the -600 and go to a 21 or 23, then.

As soon as the software for the AM-21 goes to a national release with the standalone receivers I will. For now...I use the OTA on the H20-600.

If Tom says there's a good chance...take it to the bank and cash it - it'll happen.
