Hello, I'm Ed, new to this forum. I'm a DirecTV TEC CSR. That's what brings me here. Any other CSRs, working in the DBS industry or otherwise, on here?

Rather, any stories worth sharing? I've only been with DirecTV for three months, and most of that has been off the phones and in training.

You'd probably be best off in following the DirecTV forums.

    Agreed.

It'd be ironically nice if this chap or another was the fellow who helped set me up with an HR34 today. Very bright, very cordial. The guy I talked to said he visited here, but had never posted.

This one time at band camp...

You really won't find many "stories" on here that much. Every once in awhile someone might post a vent thread but it's usually the tech side that starts it. I'm sure you'll get some stories from your trainers, coaches, and other peers.

There are some standard ones that I'm sure you'll hear as I've heard them at every center I've visited. Most aren't true but they're good fun to imagine happening.

Yep, no acronym. I've learned a lot here that I can apply to troubleshooting over the phones.

OK, is that a dead easy acronym that I'm brain whooshing on, or some inside term or joke? I'm pretty sure it 's not the old Atlantic Acceptance Corporation!

It's an acronym for an internal program.

^ More like different generations. It was rover for like a week, then NASA sued them for the name. They only tried calling it that cause someone won an internal contest.
