Now that we have CNBC-HD, FoxBusiness-HD, Weather Channel HD, my daytime viewing would be perfect if Fox News (360) was in HD - Any hope?

I think it is a channel that will be out next year. I hope so too.

The picture quality has definitely been lacking on Fox News Channel.

I've had to delete a few posts that are a bit too political in nature. Please remember that we do not allow political discussions here at DBSTalk.com.

    Thanks,
    Tom

Tom, I know how much you like to play cop, but is it even possible to discuss FOX "News" without being political?:)

Like to? Hmm... Rather wish I didn't have to.

And yes, it can be done. But it might be a short thread. :)

FWIW, I'd rather have FNHD over CNNHD.

Believe it or not, a lot of places outside of San Francisco consider Fox News to be apolitical. They tend to not use the quotes around "News," as you have done.

To go back to OP, yes I am certain all major channels will go HD or die. I don't see Fox News dying, so I'm sure it will go HD. (How is that for circular "logic"?) :)

What I don't know is the timeline for most of unannounced channels. I bet almost all major channels will be HD by the end of 2008, perhaps a few in 2009.

    Cheers,
    Tom

I don't see why it would take untill next year for fox news to go hd, when cnn got on board I started watching them with 1/2 screen, now I watch msnbc. directv since 1995:

CNN has been planning this for sometime. They started with HD cameras in the field and in NY. Atlanta, on the other hand, is still upconverted SD.

And CNN's article discussion the transition made it clear: HD isn't just plug and play like SD is. They had to test every single new piece of equipment.

So if Fox delayed, like they did on their broadcast network, it might be awhile.

    Cheers,
    Tom

No there is little hope for Fox News.... they will still be a joke as a "news" organization, even in HD.

Well, getting to the topic, I can't wait for FNC HD. When I get that and my local channels in HD, I'll be hooked to D* forever like a bad narcotic.

Then I'll have no choice but to start subscribing to various sports packages.
