Anybody disappointed in just 4 HD channels released?

    The activations started 26 Sep 07, it seems to me that you are the one who needs the remedial arithmetic. Obviously you don't know the difference. Most art majors don't know the difference anyway, go figure...

    Nope not at all. I'm enjoying NGHD channel 276 right now. Talk about awesome PQ.

    That's the thing about basic math - if someone doesn't get it, it's almost impossible to explain it to them.

    I guess by your logic if you take items #10 through #20, you'll only have 10 items.

    Oh and for the record. Being the HD snob I am, I never really gave The National Geograpic Channel a chance. But now that we have it in HD, I think it's going to be one of my new favorites. So far I'm very impressed.

    I'm not one to get into a pissing contest but

    Channels first launched at 6AM on 9/26
    then
    Channels launched at 6AM on 10/10

    Looking at a calendar tells me EXACTLY 14 days elapsed between the appearance of the first channels and appearance of the most recent channels. On what part of the planet does that not equal 2 weeks?

    Well, to be more exact, if they turned the stations on at EXACTLY 6am, then the time more than 1 week is unmeasureable. We would be talking minute (that is my-noot) fractions of a second.

    Again, sounds like two weeks to me. :)

    Question...what day was it two weeks ago? Wednesday or Thursday? The correct answer is Wednesday. The day the first stations came on the air.

    I love language. More flexible than even statistics. (Just having fun.)

    It sounds like two weeks to me! Maybe CPanther95 has played in to many Carolina Panther games and is out like Trent Green!

    No. Because you are counting the whole items in your example. But if you took items 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and less than 1/86400 of item 20, then you have damned close to 10 items.

    This is not basic math....it is a logic problem.

    Before any more HD channels are added D* needs to add the RSNs. Alot of people are paying premium for NHL Center Ice, NBA League Pass and College Football. It is riduculous to have the Food Network or the Weather Channel before we get the games in HD. Sports is the number one thing that drives HD sales.

    I can understand the OP's frustration, it sounds like he doesn't have his RSN in HD yet. I am in EXTREME HD BLISS right now, every new HD channel makes me smile even bigger. I haven't been happier since the DVD or the first time I dumped cable for D*, :) esp. since I have now have NESNHD!!!! :biggrin:

    Personally, I'll be disappointed until the channels I perceive as having *actual* content are in HD. I have no desire for nature/science/cooking channels, the only tv I watch is for scripted/dramatical shows with a story and sports. So please D*, bring on FXHD, Cartoon Network HD, and please get a deal in place for AMC HD. Obviously there is demand out there for Food, HGTV, Discovery, etc. But I have to believe there are more viewers of scripted shows (and thus the channels that carry them) than these "reality" channels.

    I have no facts to base this on of course, it's just an assumption. I don't remember seeing cooking shows every crack into the top of the cable ratings, lol.

    I watch 355 a lot and it is great seeing it in HD.

    I am pleased with current additions... I kinda like these pleasant surprises.... I get a chance to experience newly added channels before next wave of channels....

    This is the sickest thread yet. I cannot watch the amount of programming I have now in HD with the hours of my life provides. Even skipping the ads and jumping through intros, the box is recording 2 shows while I am only watching one.
    And you want more HD channels now? Right now? I am literally drowning in unwatched recordings.
    Every time I log on here I find another show that I am missing in HD and have to set up another link.
