So, here's the sitch: This past week, I've visited the in-laws with a Sony soundbar for their living-room system. Since that installation, the UHF remote for TV2 only works under certain conditions: the TV1 has to be turned on AND the receiver's HDMI output selected in order for the TV2 remote to work correctly. If the TV1 is powered off, or even if it's turned on, and not being output to the main TV, the UHF remote becomes almost completely non-functional. There's something about the HDMI handshaking that is causing the 722k to go wonky about the UHF remote. Has anybody else run into this? It's bad enough that the unscrupulous DISH installer, claiming (QUITE incorrectly) that the in-laws' bedroom TV is not HD, stuck them with a 722k (which is completely incapable of outputting HD to the second TV) instead of setting them up with a Hopper/Joey system (this installation happened in May, so there really is no excuse); but this is just terrible design. It's kind of no wonder nobody wants a 722.
