I dont see any threads on this one here, so i figured I would start one. I am an existing MLB EI subscriber and they have started billing me 34 dollars a month which works out to over 200 dollars for 6 payments...thats too steep for EI, so I am going to call retention and see if i can get a credit...I was just wondering what anyone else has been getting from them...I would like at minimun a 50 dollar credit....anyone getting anything? I have never asked them for a credit on EI before, but have gotten them for ST and CI.

yep..i just called and got the same thing. to anyone thinking of cancelling, try again for the 6 month 10 dollar credit...its in the system. that makes it 145 dollars...still not cheap but you get alot of games...

to anyone that gets rejected, are you saying cancel service at the prompt to make sure you get retention?

scott, make sure you get the retention dept by saying cancel service at the prompt. normal CSRs cant give retention credits.

I canceled. The she tried to get me to subscribe to the sports pak ($7/mo for 6 months).. I declined that too. Im just gonna watch baseball on Comcast (my home team) and DirecTv (not my home team, but a good one). Usually when I want to watch baseball on weekends, EI is blacked out due to Fox game anyway.

sorry to hear that...ya usually i am outside on saturday afternoons doing something, so i dont care too much that the afternoon games are blacked out..although i think its ridiculous...but what pisses me off is that last year fox started broadcasting some 4 pm games, blacking out anything up til 7 oclock

I called to cancel MLBEI and he asked why. I was just honest and told him business is slow and I have to save money where I can. I got $15 off for six months.

I got $10 off for six months. When you call say "Cancel MLB" at the prompt. Then when they ask you why just say its too much this year. It worked for me. $143 for the season is much better than $203.

I called and said "cancel MLBEI". Told the service rep that I didn't want to pay $200 and asked if there were any specials or discounts. I was offered $5 a month off for 6 months and I told her that I was hoping for a better deal and asked if that was the best she could do. She said yes so I told her I would think about it and call back later.

I called back within 5 minutes and again said "cancel MLBEI". I told the new rep the same thing. She said according to our notes I see you just called and were offered $5 off for 6 months. I told her that it would still be too expensive and that I was calling back because I just checked the cost of MLBTV (which I really had just done) and that would cost me $120/year.

She asked me a few questions about MLBTV and I explained what it was. She then asked me if there was anything that MLBTV had the MLBEI didn't. I told her that MLBTV archived games so that if it was July and you wanted to watch a game from May you could do that. I also told her that this feature was not very important to me.

She then asked me to hold while she checked for any discounts. She came back a minute later and told me she could give me $10 off per month for 6 months which would bring MLBEI within about $20 of MLBTV. I told her that this was good and she applied the credit to my bill.
