My Samsung BluRay player looks as good as my PS3. In fact I like my Samsung better because it's a bit more simplistic interface and I can move around faster. The Roku, is not quite as good(seems a tick grainy) tho and Boxee has stuttering issues(without the stuttering it would be comparable to Samsung).

    **EDIT**

    Update
As an FYI, I figured out why my Boxee was so stuttery compared to all my other devices... The MLB app doesn't like the 1080p/24 Boxee display setting. Setting it to just 1080p fixes the issue.

Impressive, I merely got a $30 credit when I threatened to switch to MLB.tv.

I just called and got $60 off, plus an $8 credit for 12 months for being a loyal DIRECTV subscriber. I made the one time payment. I prefer to do it that way. I also have MLB TV. I love it for my iPhone and pc when I'm away from home. The archived games are worth the price. It's not DTV hd quality, but it's pretty darn close.

I called retention and asked if they could drop the price to closer to what MLB TV's price is. The CSR immediately said $60 off plus the $8 credit. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

I just called and did all this and the guy told me that because I had the $10 free HD credit for 2 years, they weren't able to apply any other discounts. Based on some things I've read on here, doesn't sound like that's true is it?

Sounds like it's up to the whim of whichever agent you connect to when you call. I doubt there are hard and fast rules that we can take away with us.

I got $90 off. $10 per month off of Extra Innings and $5 per month for six months on my base package. I haven't had any credits for a few years, though.

Were PHL 17 games ever carried? Philadelphia's first few games are on PHL 17 or TCN. As for other OTA feeds, give it time to fill the schedule out. I'm sure Yankees My9 will be carried, so I don't care. I also don't know why it matters as long as one feed is HD...99% are useless homers anyway.

Yeah PHL 17 games were carried last year. I'm sure that's just a partial schedule listed and the rest will be filled in by next week.

I've never subscribed to EI but want to. What should I call and ask for? When prompted say retention? If so, what should I say to get a better deal or discount? Any help much appreciated. :)

Subscribe online. Call and say "Cancel Extra Innings". If they don't give you a deal, cancel it. Better do it by Wednesday, though.

Phillies, Padres feeds are part of EI. They always seem to add those feeds very late to the schedule. And some (not all) OTA feeds are also part of EI.
