I have an AT-9 dish and will be adding an HR10-250 receiver shortly. My H20 requires the B Band converter module when connected to the AT-9, would the Tivo based HD DVR require it as well?

Nope, the B-Band converter is only necessary for 5LNB/MPEG4 aware receivers.

I have my D*-Tivo (SD) and Zenith HD-SAT520 hooked up directly to the coaxial line and they both work fine, no issues. I can't receive MPEG4 stations obviously, but I can still get all my old stations.
