a rumor floating around an Indiana Football Message Board that some DTV CSRs have told subsribers that effective October 15th, DTV will no longer carry the BTN.

    Any truth to this?

I have seen nothing to this effect, and don't believe it myself.

I highly doubt it, there was a half page ad in the Cleveland Plain Dealer Sports sections the other day, trumpeting the fact that Directv has big ten network and Time Warner doesn't. I believe the headline was "We chose to run it. Time Warner Passed." I don't think it's likely they'd run ads like that then cut it off mid-season.

I think there would be riots in the streets of Columbus should that happen. More than a few people have jumped ship from TW particularly because of the lack of BigTen. Be a good way to upset a lot of new customers and be a serious PR nightmare.

HA HA. Keep dissing IU football. IU has gone from 2 wins in '03 to 3 wins in '04 to 4 wins in '05 to 5 wins in '06 to 7 wins in '07.

So it's steady improvement has pretty much gone on under the radar.... even amongst many of its own fans!!! :eek2:

There is a solid core of IU faithful (gotta have lots of faith) that got hit with the DTV/BTN rumor. I was just wondering if any here had received similar rumblings or real news.

Doesn't sound like it. So I am not to be worried. I go to all the home games anyway.

Yes, an up-tick since the Randle-El years. They built well on that, right?

Yes, the IU football fans are faithful. And a very nice setting. I have tailgated at IU and had a great time.

So does that mean 8 wins in '08, 9 wins in '09, and 0 wins in '10? ;)

As an Indiana alum (grad school), I can tell you flat out that is incorrect. BTN will be on DIRECTV. Are you sure those weren't Boilermaker fans? ;) Was this on Peegs board? Good grief.

Peegs is very suspect. He must have put odds on the chances of this happening; then, he could have changed it daily.

Don't BTN and DirectV have a 20 year deal?

DirecTV better keep the BTN, when we move in late Oct, we're going back to DirecTV since Uverse won't be available.
