Billing issues...should I cancel service?

    I appreciate all the feedback. One thing I want to make clear is that I was not told the HD free for life would drop off. I understand I am partially at fault, but it should have been disclosed to me on the phone when I made the change...a change the rep recommended to me.

    Indeed I did. I had Directv for several years and thought I would switch to Dish to get the new customer discounts..let's just say you get what you pay for. Several billing and customer service problems later, I came back to directv. Had it installed the day before my dish contract was up and cancelled dish the next day. Won't make that mistake again.

    I see what you're saying though. Things such as tv providers, cell phone, internet, etc are a YMMV type of thing. Different things work for different people, but one person suggesting another person switch to "x" provider because they hate "y" provider...that's not very helpful.

    and i can say the same exact thing
    was with direct tv,had billing errors,free giveaways that were later taken back and charged to my credit card etc etc
    switched to dish and never been happier

    I Guarantee you that Ellen Filipiak's Office will help you out as they hate Churn and they really do want Customer Satisfaction.

    They helped me out twice and did something for me that no other department could do.

    I would verify you used the correct email address and that the email was sent. This is very unusual for them not to have responded yet.

    Normally they will get back to you within 24 to 48 hours.

    If I don't hear back tomorrow, who should I contact? If I were to call in and ask for Ellen, would that get me anywhere?

    Did you check you spam folder? i have had a few emails end up there that where not spam.

    Nothing from them in the Spam folder. Just the usual junk.

    Give them more time, as they may need to research the issue. I had a billing problem which I think has been solved (I'll need to check my next bill to verify) but it took nearly a week. They will answer.

    Being a weekend they may not have as many people on staff. I'd wait a couple of days.

    Received a call from Ronnie today. He got everything taken care of for me and credited the difference back to when the change was made. I had to go back up to Ultimate, but still end up saving $4 a month vs what I was paying. Thanks everyone for your guidance.
