Using the Birdog 4.0 USB Plus, it is possible to view the spectrum of the Ka spotbeams.

To view the 99 spotbeam Odd Transponders:
    *Select DTV 101
    *Select Spectrum (Up, Down, Down)
*Set Span to 960 (Down, Down)
*Set Center frequency to 13053 (Right 10 times)
Note: The actual center frequency is 19853 and the span is 19373 to 20333.

To view the 103 spotbeam Odd Transponders:
    *Select DTV 119
    *Select Spectrum (Up, Down, Down)
*Set Span to 960 (Down, Down)
*Set Center frequency to 13083 (Right 6 times)
*Block 119 LNB for best results
Note: The actual center frequency is 19883 and the span is 19403 to 20363.

Please use the Dither method on DTV 101 for the best results in alignment. The Q value (uncorrected inverse bit error rate) is about ten times as sensitive to elevation dither adjustments when compared to RF level

The ConUS tps use the B-Band (250-750) range. These are converted to 1650-2150 by the B-Band Converter. I tried using the BBC but could not find a way to put it into the mode where it converts. I tried all the Birdog USB Plus DiSEqC commands (for Dish), but none would switch the BBC.

The Birdog does not respond to the B-Band, so the ConUS tps cannot be displayed.

Are there any other Birdog 4.0 USB Plus users out there? Please post your results. Have you also used earlier version Birdogs or the Super Buddy? Anyone who has compared various meters, please share your results.

Wow thats a lot of work for a signal reading. Almost easier to come off the ladder and check the TV in the house. Good information regardless.

FYI : New software updates are out for the older Birdogs V2.0+ to assist with DirecTV 5lnb setups and Dish networks new eastern arc.

Have tested both and it works like a charm.:)

Won't work for Wild Blue !
